"Fairy tales are not normally correspond to reality", Hans (Otto Jespersen) tells the three students of the College Volda (played by Glenn Erland Toskrud, Johanna Mock, Thomas Alf Larsen) which he helped to inaugurate it on the hunt last night so that it can be captured on film and exposed to clear - and it is precisely this gap, and the comedy of incongruity that forge, which is the courage of impressive features André Øvredal Troll Hunter was released.

Shot in a documentary-style handheld, improvised by its cast (many of which are stand-up comics) and presented as found footage that we have told the authorities can be either "false or genuine," the film follows Hans, a maturity, if unhappy, an employee of Security Services Troll infiltration, as he tries to account both stray trolls (apparently the best kept secret of Norway) and his own organization from the shadows.

What follows is a hilarious collision of the old, cool, fantasy and naturalism, like the mythical beasts are portrayed (and shipped) in a realistic commonplace politeness that belies their incredibly monstrous form. For when Hans is not put on the armor and restoring the medieval horror story of three goats gruff, it is kvetching about the bureaucracy of his company and paying out the mundane minutiae of its labor practices.
